Happy August 1, people.
This is just a reminder that stories are due in by midnight tonight, eastern standard time. You have less than 16 hours to complete your stories and email them to me at email@example.com.
Best of luck to those who make it! Great try to those who don't.
Okay, peoples, it's 6 July. Less than a month left till the end of the challenge. I haven't had anything sent in yet, but there's still 25 days left.
How is everyone coming along? Is anyone going to be finished in time?
Just a quick reminder to anyone participating in the 2007 novella challenge:
Writing ends on 01 August. All entries must be received no later than 23:59 on 01 August. No extensions will be issued this year.
All stories will be posted by 04 August, and voting will begin that day. Voting goes till 24 August; last votes to be counted must be in by 23:59 on 24 August. Winners will be announced 28 August, before I leave for Dragon*Con.
Prizes this year depend heavily on donations. As none have been received, prizes may well end up being banners or very, very, very small gift certificates to Amazon.com ($5 for runners up, $10 for winners). As with last year, there will be a judge's pick, should there be one story Apollymi likes better than others, and its prize also depends on the amount of donations.
Again, 01 August is the deadline for stories. Any stories received after 23:59 will be listed on the page but will not be part of the voting, and therefore ineligible for prizes.
Other than that, how is everyone coming along? Who all is still in for this year?
Well, ladies and gents (Do we have gents? That would be kind of cool!), it's officially February 1.
All the information is up on the site, and the site will be updated with this information in just a few moments (once I finish reading some new stories).
All but one prize has been sent out for the 2006.
So, since it's February 1 now, I can finally say this:
Writing is ready, set, and GO!
Thank you to everyone who submitted stories for the 2006 challenge, who voted in the poll, and who commented on the stories. Li and I have finished with the judging, taken the votes and comments into consideration, and are ready to announce the winners!
The winning stories are:
25k - The Past of the Present Future by Daimeryan Rei
15k - Chain by Dawn
15k Runnerup - Everything You Are by Tyger
Judges Pick - Everything You Are by Tyger
The stories written by the judges and thus excluded from judging are:
25k - Where Angels by Apollymi
15k - See You by Katsuko
Banners for the winners will be made up sometime over the weekend; ladies, please check out the page for the possible prizes for your category and contact one of the judges.
